How do I blend the edges seamlessly?

If you’re working with latex, use liquid latex and a stipple sponge to blend the edges into the skin. With vinyl caps, you can use acetone and a sponge or a brush to dissolve and melt the edges.

When should I choose a latex bald cap versus a vinyl one?

If you want to cut and shape it yourself, latex is ideal, even though it might take more work to blend it. Plastic/glatzan caps are a better choice if you’re looking for a skin-like smooth blend, and your client needs to wear it for long hours. 

Latex caps may be more budget-friendly, but they’re also challenging to blend. Always check whether your client is allergic to latex before fitting them, too.
