Our 907A aluminum wrapping and armature wire, the smallest gauge wire we offer, is mainly used for the skeletal aspects of a smaller model and wrapping the larger, thicker appendages of a larger model to assist the clay in adhering to the larger armature. Lightweight, yet strong, this wire is non-corrosive, completely pliable and non-staining.
WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Lead, Nickel, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, and Lead, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
Approximate measurements: gauge (SWG); 3/16" in diameter; 10 feet long.
As an addition, you may want to consider our hand-made armatures for the head, head-bust and/or figure.
If using moist (ceramic/pottery) clay, please note, the armature wire cannot be put in a kiln during firing. The clay will shrink but the wire will not, resulting in cracking and/or breakage. We suggest using a wet and twisted newspaper armature as the paper will burn off during firing; or a wax armature as the wax will melt during firing.
